Adults Rule Too presentsβ¦ The Clay Social: Gingerbread House π Switch off, get creative and enjoy some well-deserved time for you while creating something special to bring out at Christmas year after year. Across two relaxed evening sessions, you'll create your very own ceramic gingerbread house from clay, then return once it has been carefully dried and fired to bring it to life with colour. π SESSION ONE β MAKE IT Wednesday 21st October | 6:30β8:30pm We'll guide you through the basics of working with clay before you build and personalise your own gingerbread house. Add windows, doors, roof details and all the little festive touches that make it completely yours. Keep it traditional or get creative β no two houses need to look the same! No previous clay experience is needed. This is about switching off, having a go and enjoying creating something by hand. Once finished, you'll leave your house with us to dry thoroughly before its first kiln firing. π¨ SESSION TWO β PAINT IT Friday 6th November | 6:30β8:30pm Return for another relaxed evening and bring your handmade gingerbread house to life with colour. Once you've finished painting, leave it with us again for its final kiln firing. We'll contact you as soon as it's ready to collect β with plenty of time to enjoy it throughout the festive season. Β£45 per person includes BOTH evenings, your allocated clay, use of our tools and materials, guidance throughout, paints/glazes, kiln firings. Additional drinks will be available to purchase, and we'll be in touch closer to the workshop with the option to pre-order food if you'd like to make a proper evening of it. β¨ Only 10 places available β advance booking essential. Please note: Your Β£45 booking covers both workshop dates, so please make sure you can attend both sessions before booking. Finished pottery cannot be taken home following the painting session as it will require its final kiln firing. Clay is a natural material and handmade pottery can occasionally crack, warp or change during drying and firing. We'll take every reasonable care of your creation throughout the process, but kiln-fired pottery can never be completely guaranteed.
Cancellation Policy
Adults Rule Too β Clay Social Booking Policy Places on our Clay Social workshops are limited and your place is secured once full payment has been received. Your booking covers both dates of the two-part workshop. Please check that you are able to attend both the making and painting sessions before booking. Bookings are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible. Where sufficient notice is provided, we will do our best to transfer your place to another suitable Clay Social where availability allows, but transfers cannot be guaranteed. If you miss the making session, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to complete the project at a later date, as drying and firing times are scheduled around the course. If you attend the making session but are unable to attend the return painting session, your creation will be kept safely for you and we will discuss available options for finishing it at another suitable time. Any alternative session may be subject to availability. Clay is a natural material and handmade pottery can occasionally crack, warp or change during drying or firing. We take every reasonable care when handling and firing your work, but the results of kiln firing cannot be completely guaranteed. Finished pieces require a final kiln firing after painting and therefore cannot be taken home at the end of the second session. We will contact you when your piece is ready for collection. If Kids Rule Play CafΓ© has to cancel or rearrange a workshop, we will contact you and offer an alternative date or appropriate refund.
